England Rugby League are delighted to announce that Moss Bros will be the national team’s official formal suit supplier for Rugby League World Cup 2013.
The menswear specialist founded in 1851 will also supply suits for all the male staff involved in the Rugby League World Cup 2013 operations team, ensuring the tournament is not only the best in the sport’s history but the most stylish.
The extended partnership builds on the successful relationship established between England and Moss Bros in 2012 and will involve England full-back Sam Tomkins becoming the face of the Moss Bespoke collection and a brand ambassador for 2013 and 2014.
RFL Director of Performance and Coaching Jon Roberts said: “We are delighted that Moss Bros have agreed to continue their association with the England team as we head into the Rugby League World Cup.
“Our performance programmes are designed to ensure the England players are the best they can be when they pull on the national jersey: this partnership with Moss Bros will mean all the England personnel also look their best off the field.”
In an agreement that emphasises the British heritage of both parties, the England squad have opted for a two-piece suit in navy from the retailer’s prestigious made-to-measure service, Moss Bespoke.
The understated, plain weave cloth, woven in England by the eponymous Alfred Brown mill is part of the retailer’s Luxury collection, having a soft, luxurious feel – yet remaining quite durable.
The squad have also opted for the suits to be lined in a vibrant red, whilst being finished with signature details including a white buttonhole to the cuff and personalised embroidery in the inside pocket – to save on lost items in the changing rooms!
The suits will be worn with a crisp white cutaway collar shirt from the premium Moss 1851 collection, sporting the official England RL tie.
To promote the partnership and RLWC2013, Sam Tomkins has been supplied with a versatile wardrobe befitting his many formal appearances throughout the season and the tournament.
Sam Tomkins said: “The Moss Bespoke collection is fantastic so I am looking forward to my role as brand ambassador over the coming months. I am spending more and more time in suits at the moment so at least I know I will be well turned out from now on!”
Moss Bros will dress all the male official staff for the Rugby League World Cup 2013 in the brand’s Dehavilland collection – a durable ready to wear collection that is perfect for daily workwear throughout the tournament.
RLWC2013 General Manager Sally Bolton said: “Our preparations for Rugby League World Cup 2013 are at an advanced stage and it is especially pleasing that we have secured a brand as prestigious as Moss Bros as suit supplier for the tournament’s male staff.”
Commenting on the sponsorship agreement, Moss Bros Commercial and Operations Director Jemima Bird said: “Moss Bros are delighted to be dressing the England squad for the second consecutive season and the fact that the suits are made from British cloth is especially fitting with the RLWC2013 being hosted on home turf.”
