Bridge bounced back after last weeks lack lustre performance with a good 4-0 win against Mersey Town. Liam Sweeney had a good shot which flew just wide after good work from David Sheakey and Brett Brannigans menacing cross was headed goal wards by Ray McDonald only to see the Mersey goalkeeper save well. on 22 minutes Lewis Watson well struck shot brought another good save out of the opposing keeper before Wes Farrington had 2 chances in succession in which Mersey scrambled the ball away and Brett Brannigans dangerous shot in the 44th minute brought a great save form the mersey keeper to keep it 0-0 at the break. Bridge came out in the 2nd half with more determination and duly took the lead when Liam Sweeney's 25 yard scorcher hit the top corner after good work from Watson. Wes Farrington doubled Timbers lead with another great goal after running with the ball, beating 2 defenders before unleashing an unstoppable shot in to bottom corner from 20 yards to extend Bridges lead. With Bridge dominating the game, Ray Mcdonald smashed home goal number 3 after Karl Jenkins neat pass gave Mcdonald time to skilfully turn the defender before finding the corner for 3-0. Karl Jenkins then got off the mark for the season with a decent goal, after seeing his initial shot blocked by the keeper, Jenkins reacted quickest to tap home number 4 and round off a good all round display for Timber.
