Bridge started the match with arguably their strongest squad to date and had the majority of the early play, Lee parry and Ricky Thompson having good chances before Mersey Town hit Bridge on the break but Shaun Harringtons good save kept it 0-0 before Timber kept pressing and after good team play between Wes Farrington,Lewis Watson and Ricky Thompson the Mersey keeper was again in good form to prevent Bridge taking the lead. Robbie Davis then went off with an ankle injury, Jamie Cumpper came on to replace him and within 5 minutes, great play involving Watson and Parry sent Ricky Thmpson down the line, after ghosting past 3 defenders, his cross was laid off by Peter Murphy to David Sheaky who found the top corner with the outside of his foot to give Bridge the lead they deserved. Lee Parry had an outsatanding run in the 47th minute,chasing a lost cause and keeping the ball in, his cross bringing a good save and Wes Farrington and soon after Peter Murphy linked up well with Murphys shot being blocked. With Bridge having plenty of the ball, Lewis Watson had a good shot go just wide, Farrington had a shot saved and from the resulting corner after having the intial cross cleared, Watson crossed back into the danger area and Lee Parry controlled the ball, preditor Alan Bond nipped in and lashed the ball home from close range to make it 2-0. Bridge continued to press with sweeney and Ricky Thompson narrowly missing the target but Bridge deservedly got the 3 points . Man of the match for bridge was Ricky Thompson
