Sir Liam Donaldson the Chief Medical Officer has just published his guidelines for the safe alcohol limit for under 15 year olds which is Zero, and that 15 to 17 year olds should be introduced to Alcohol in a controlled manor. I said this in my BBC Radio 4 PM Blog last June when the Prime Minister was saying that they were going to look into the safe Alcohol limit for our children. The Reason for this is that under 15 years old the brain has not fully formed and binge drinking sets up a chemical reaction which may lead to becoming a problem drinker in Adulthood, this is the same reaction why Children don't have massive hangovers because if they did then they might to overindulge. Children should also not be subjected to environments were Adult binge drinking is occuring.
