A RUNCORN resident said they were “blown away” by the acts of kindness shown by pupils at St Edwards Primary School.
In a letter written to the school’s headteacher, Angela Snell, the resident described a “wonderful experience” she and her friend had had when they encountered year two pupils from the school recently.
The individual said: “I wanted to share my feedback of a wonderful experience my friend and I had this morning when we met the children and staff of Class 2.
“The children handed me a chocolate bar and a little slip of paper with the quote ‘you are more than enough’.
“This quote meant so much to me and it really made my day and both my friend and I were blown away, even now I am smiling as I write this.”
This comes after the pupils and staff - armed with sweet treats and written notes of positive affirmations – headed out into the community to spread ‘joy and kindness’ recently.
Vickie Wilks, senior mental health lead at the school, spoke of the ‘heart warming experience’.
She said: “It was heartening to witness the smiles and gratitude from the members of our community.
“Many people expressed how the children truly made their day brighter, which is exactly what we hoped to achieve.
“In a lovely turn of events, the children were even gifted two tubs of chocolate by a kind lady who was touched by their efforts.
“This act of kindness not only brought joy to those around them but also left a lasting impression on our young learners about the importance of giving back and showing appreciation.”
Meanwhile, one of the lucky residents to be the recipient of the classes acts of kindness commended the school on what they are teaching the children during their letter to the head.
They continued: “I would like to share my thanks with class 2 if possible, I think it’s amazing that you are teaching the importance of kindness and love as it’s much needed in our world at this time.”
