THE family behind one of the most festive-looking homes in Runcorn light up their house each year for a fantastic cause.
Jade and Keiran Dunn have been lighting up their home on Westfield Road for the last five years to raise money for Halton Haven Hospice (HHH).
As well as bringing a dose of Christmas cheer to their street each December, the couple also wanted to help the Hospice that looked after two of their close family members in their last hours of need.
Speaking on the annual fundraiser, Keiran said: “We’ve been lighting up for Halton Haven for five years and have built up our light display each year.
“It takes around four days to put the lights up either on weekends or after work.
“We do it in in memory of my father Stephen Dunn and my wife’s grandad John Donaldson who both sadly passed away with cancer.”
Keiran went on to explain how both Stephen and John sadly died after battling prostate cancer and were given end-of-life care by HHH.
“John passed away there, and Stephen spent time there after being in hospital before going home,” he added.
Their home is unmissable on the street with lights covering every brick on the front of the house.
Among their major collection of lights, there features a Santa in his sleigh, a train and Christmas tree, as well as stars and light-up reindeers.
Not to forget the life-size blow-up penguin sat proudly at the front door.
“We have a donation bucket on the drive for cash donations,” Keiran continued. “We also laminate a QR code to our Just Giving Page displayed on the driveway and advertise our Just Giving link on social media.
“We like to support the hospice however we can and lighting up our Christmas lights is another way we can support them. They not only provide exceptional care for their patients but also amazing support for their families.”
Keiran and Jade hope to raise £7,123 for the Hospice to pay to run it during Christmas Day.
The display turns on every evening from 5.30pm. If you would like to donate, visit their Just Giving link here.
