A CAR began to emit smoke following a three-vehicle crash in Widnes.
Two fire engines from Widnes and Runcorn fire stations rushed to Speke Road heading eastbound yesterday evening, Monday.
This came after Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service received reports of a road traffic collision at around 6pm.
On arrival at the scene, firefighters found that the crash involved three cars, with one vehicle emitting smoke.
Crews used a hose reel to bring the incident under control.
No one was trapped in the vehicles, and three casualties were treated at the scene by paramedics.
