A PERVERT has been banned from Asda in Widnes after he sexually assaulted two women because he ‘likes female’s bottoms’.

Shaun Pendleton, of Tidsley Crescent in Runcorn, appeared before Warrington Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.

Prosecuting, Olivia Randell told the court that in August, a child was shopping at Asda on Widnes Road.

The court heard that the young teen was at the self-service tills with her friend and her friend’s parents when she felt someone ‘grab her bottom’.

The perpetrator was not known to her, and she proceeded to tell her friend’s parents and security what had happened.

The girl later told her mother, who called the police.

Cheshire Police attended the supermarket, where they were told that the same man had done the same thing to another woman in March.

Both incidents were caught on CCTV, and Pendleton was identified as the offender.

Upon his arrest, the 26-year-old told police officers in an interview that he had not committed the offences for ‘sexual gratification’.

Instead, he said, it was out of ‘sexual frustration’, and that he ‘likes female’s bottoms’.

A victim impact statement was read in court by Ms Randell on behalf of the second victim, who said she was ‘shocked and confused’ by the incident, and had initially believed it to be an accident.

Pendleton was sentenced by district judge Moran to 12 weeks imprisonment, suspended for 24 months.

In that time, he must complete the Building Choices programme and five rehabilitation activity requirement days.

A sexual harm prevention order has been put in place for seven years, during which time the 26-year-old cannot approach or touch any woman that does not know him or his offences.

Finally, a restraining order for an undetermined period of time has been put in place to prevent Pendleton from entering the Widnes Asda.
