LONG delays have now cleared along the M56 in Runcorn following a crash involving four vehicles.
One lane was closed on the westbound carriageway after a collision took place this morning, Thursday.
Cheshire Police officers received reports at around 8.24am of a collision on the M56 near to junction 12, Runcorn.
A spokesperson said: "The incident is believed to have involved four vehicles.
"There are not believed to be reports of any injuries."
National Highways warned of queues of congestion on the approach and up to a 40 minute delay.
The scene is now clear and the lane closure has been lifted.
