SEVERAL people trapped in vehicles were taken to hospital after a ‘serious road traffic collision’ in Daresbury.
The A56 Chester Road was closed as emergency crews rescued a number of casualties trapped in vehicles.
The crash involving two vehicles happened at the junction of Hobb Lane and Chester Road in Daresbury at around 6.15pm on Sunday.
Three fire engines were at the scene.
A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Firefighters have released a number of casualties that were trapped in vehicles and they have been taken to hospital.”
Daresbury Expressway was closed at the Chester Road junction while police and emergency services dealt with the incident.
Firefighters from Runcorn, Warrington and Lymm attended the scene and helped to release a number of casualties, who were taken to hospital.
