A property in Moore could be converted into a children's home if plans are given the green light.
An application has been submitted to Halton Borough Council to convert the property on Six Acre Lane to accommodate up to three children aged seven-18 with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
The plans have been submitted by Fairview Care and Support, which said the new facility would have a team of seven staff including a registered manager, deputy manager, team leader and residential childcare workers.
A planning statement submitted by the company said: "Although our home is for a maximum of three children or young people, we may only place one or two children, depending on their needs to ensure we can provide person-centred care and support."
The application said it would have a noise management plan in place that would be reviewed on a regular basis.
It added: "Our home is detached, therefore there should not be any disturbance to the neighbours,
"Fairview understands that children and young people with adverse childhood experiences may display challenging behaviours and can become emotionally unregulated.
"We have an experienced staff team who take a therapeutic parenting approach to support children and young people with their emotions and follow their individual behaviour management plan."
The application is one of a number in the past few months submitted by private operators to convert houses into care homes for children.
The application added: "Upon consultation and meeting with the commissioner of Halton it was recognised there is an identified need for a children’s home of this nature within Halton."
The application said the home would be available for children who had links to Halton and the wider Merseyside area. it said: "This provides children the opportunity to remain close to their family and friends where appropriate to ensure their sense of identity is not lost.
"Fairview will care for children that have suffered or were likely to suffer significant harm at home, providing a rightful place in society enabling them to live as part of a community, and for this reason it is accepted practice in this field of care to seek to provide accommodation within established residential areas."
No date has yet been set for a decision.
