Festive favourites Love Actually, The Holiday, and The Muppets Christmas Carol will be shown in Liverpool and Manchester with full live orchestras.

The UK-wide tours will see the films being screened to audiences while a live orchestra performs the soundtracks.

It will be shown at Manchester's Bridgewater Hall on December 6 and Liverpool's Empire Theatre on November 30, with a matinee performance added for the same day.

The Muppets Christmas Carol, where the Muppets re-enact Charles Dickens’ classic holiday tale, will also be screened at the Bridgewater Hall on December 8 with both matinee and evening performances.

In this heart-warming story, Kermit the Frog plays Bob Cratchit, the clerk of the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge, played by Michael Caine.

The film also stars Gonzo as Dickens, narrating the story with Rizzo the Rat, Miss Piggy as Emily Cratchit, and Fozzie Bear as Fozziwig.
