A SON threatened to make his mother eat her own feet.
Mark Connor has been handed a 12-month community order after pleading guilty to two charges relating to messages he sent his mum.
The 44-year-old Runcorn resident threatened to ‘slice her head off’, ‘chop her up’, and ‘make her eat her own feet’.
Defending, Simon Dunn said that at the time of the offences, between June 26 and July 1 this year, Connor was in ‘an exceptionally poor place’.
He says his medication was making him go ‘haywire’ as he had not taken it and he was not getting the correct medication.
This resulted in a ‘psychotic episode’ which lasted for a number of days, during which he sent the aforementioned message.
Connor has said he is ‘ashamed’ of his actions, particularly as the message was aimed at someone who had been supporting him.
On October 16, 2024, he pleaded guilty to sending a message that conveyed a threat of serious harm and sending a message that was grossly offensive or of an indecent, obscene or menacing character.
During the sentencing hearing at Warrington Magistrates' on Wednesday (October 30), a probation officer said there were potential issues relating to mental health.
She also noted that alcohol is a concern.
Mr Dunn added that since the incident this summer, his client has made ‘positive’ steps and that he is now hoping to study psychology at university.
District Judge Edward John Barnett handed Connor a 12-month community order.
He also ordered him to complete 25 days of rehabilitation activity as well as wear an alcohol abstinence tag for 120 days.
Connor, of Grangeway in Runcorn, will also have to pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £114.
