A BIN truck set alight during its round in Runcorn this morning, Monday.
Cheshire Fire Service was called to reports of a blaze involving the vehicle at around 9.45am.
Firefighters were dispatched from Widnes and Runcorn to Woodhatch Road.
Upon arrival they found that waste collected inside the bin wagon had set on fire.
Crews wearing breathing apparatus worked to extinguish the flames using a horse reel jet.
A spokesperson for CFS said: "Fire crews worked with a local authority representative to ensure the waste was safely unloaded, dampened down, and cleared."
