THE deadline for junior sports teams to win a free sports kit is fast approaching.

Any under 14 teams in Halton have until November 4 to enter Merseyflow’s Team Spirit competition, where five fully numbered and branded junior sports kits, worth up to £1,000 each, are up for grabs.

The initiative aims to support local clubs that enable children up to the age of 14 to participate in sports, thereby improving their physical and mental wellbeing.

The competition is open to all sports, ranging from netball, gymnastics, and dance to hockey, football, and rugby.

To enter the competition, teams must send an image that captures their 'teamwork spirit', along with a maximum of 300 words explaining why they deserve to win, to teamspirit@merseyflow.co.uk before November 4.

An appointed Merseyflow panel will judge the entries and the most creative team images that best showcase 'teamwork' will win the five available kits.

Neil Conway, chief executive of Merseyflow, said: "We had a fantastic response to our Team Spirit competition so far, and we’re hoping to showcase even more organisations this year.

"We know that junior sports teams are self-funded and rely on donations to cover day-to-day running costs and equipment, so we’re keen to show our support and recognise the fantastic work they do to provide kids with an outlet to have fun and stay healthy."

The full competition timeline is as follows: the competition opened on October 14, entries can be emailed to teamspirit@merseyflow.co.uk until the closing date of November 4, and the five winners will be announced on November 11 on Merseyflow’s Facebook page.
