FIREFIGHTERS were called out to tackle a car that was engulfed in flames.
One fire engine from Widnes Fire Station was dispatched to Bold Street in Widnes yesterday afternoon, Wednesday.
This came after Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service received reports of a vehicle fire shortly after 4pm.
On arrival at the scene, the fire crew closed the road to deal with the incident, which involved a car that was ‘well alight’.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet and dry powder fire extinguisher to put the fire out.
