TRAIN commuters are being warned of delays this morning, Thursday, due to flooding.
Avanti West Coast are all reporting reduced speed on the line through Runcorn.
It follows torrential rain through the most part of yesterday, Wednesday, which continued through the night.
In a statement, Avanti West Coast said: “Due to flooding between Crewe and Runcorn, trains have to run at reduced speed on all lines towards Runcorn.
“Train services running through these stations may be cancelled or delayed by up to 25 minutes. Disruption is expected until midday.
“We are really sorry if this affects you and your journey today. If your journey is delayed 15 minutes or more, you can claim compensation at delayrepay.avantiwestcoast.co.uk
“If your train is cancelled, your ticket is valid on one of the two Avanti West Coast services immediately before your booked train, or one of the two immediately after.
“If you no longer wish to travel because your train's delayed or cancelled, you can request a full refund from where you bought your ticket.”
