A DANGEROUS driver who caused serious injuries in a Widnes hit-and-run crash has admitted his guilt over the incident.
Cheshire Police previously launched a public appeal for information, witnesses and video footage over the incident on Leigh Avenue and Kingsway.
At around 11.50pm on Friday, October 11, officers were called to attend reports of a fail-to-stop crash.
On arrival at the scene, they found that there had been a collision between two cars, a black Mercedes A45 AMG and a grey Audi A1.
It was said by police that the occupants of the Mercedes had fled the scene on foot.
Meanwhile, the occupants of the Audi, a 23-year-old man and two women aged 18 and 21, sustained serious injuries and were taken to hospital.
A 25-year-old man from Widnes was arrested in relation to the incident the following day, Saturday, and he was being held in police custody.
In an update on Monday, Cheshire Police confirmed that Anthony Campbell had subsequently been charged.
He appeared before Chester Magistrates’ Court that same day to face two charges of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
He was also charged with driving while disqualified, driving without third-party insurance and failing to stop after an accident.
Campbell, of Abbey Close, entered guilty pleas to all charges, with magistrates committing the case for sentence at Liverpool Crown Court on November 11.
The defendant was remanded in custody to appear in court on that date.
