A RABBIT was rescued from a house fire.
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to a fire in Runcorn on Saturday (October 12).
Three engines – one each from the Runcorn, Widnes and Penketh stations – arrived at the scene on Coney Grove at 2.45pm.
Upon arrival, crews found a fire in the rear garden of a property, which was believed to have been started accidentally.
A CFRS spokesperson said: “Firefighters used a hose reel jet to extinguish a fire in the rear garden of a mid-terrace property on Coney Grove.
“The fire had spread causing damage to the exterior of the building.
“Crews checked for signs of fire spread in loft spaces and in adjoining properties.
“The fire is believed to have started accidentally.
“One rabbit was rescued during the incident and taken to the vets.”
