TWO people were ‘seriously injured’ in a hit-and-run.
Police in Widnes have arrested a 25-year-old man from Widnes following a crash in the town.
Officers were called to the crash on Leigh Avenue, involving a black Mercedes and a grey Audi A1, at around 11.50pm on Friday night (October 11).
The occupants of the Mercedes fled the scene while two people in the Audi, a man and a woman, were both taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Police have made one arrest in relation to the incident but are now appealing for further information.
A spokesperson for the force said: “Police are appealing for witnesses and video footage following a fail to stop collision in Widnes.
“At around 11.50pm on Friday police were called to reports of a collision on Leigh Avenue, Widnes.
“Officers attended the scene and found there had been a collision between two cars, a Black Mercedes and a grey Audi A1.
“The occupants of the Mercedes had fled the scene on foot. The occupants of the Audi, a man and a woman, both sustained serious injuries and were taken to hospital.
“A 25-year-old man from Widnes has since been arrested in relation to the incident, he is currently being held in police custody.
