FIREFIGHTERS tackled a blaze inside an abandoned building last night, Thursday.
It is believed the fire, which was at the former The Fiddlers Three pub, was started deliberately.
Crews were called to the incident on Pendennis Court at around 5.15pm.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire and carried out a search to ensure no one was in the building.
Two fire engines from Widnes and Runcorn attended the scene.
Police have been notified of the incident.
