A YELLOW weather warning for heavy rain has been issued for Halton.
According to The Met Office, areas of heavy rain will bring the potential for disruption to the town.
Forecasters say that spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some temporary road closures, that significant delays or cancellations to train and bus services are possible, and that homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damaging to some buildings.
There is also a small chance of power cuts and loss of other services to some homes and businesses.
The yellow weather warning will be in place until 11.59pm this evening, Sunday.
Then as of tomorrow, Monday, it will be upgrade to an amber warning for rain.
This will be in place until 9pm tomorrow.
A spokesperson for The Met Office said: “An area of heavy rain is expected to develop across central and southern England during the early of hours of Monday, edging north and west and then becoming slow-moving somewhere across the warning area for several hours.
“It will then weaken and move away eastwards later Monday evening and overnight.”
