ARMED police descended on a street in Runcorn last night after being called to reports of a group of men, possibly armed with weapons, attacking an address.
Officers were called to the incident in the Grangemoor area at around 6.50pm last night, Monday.
Local officers, supported by the armed policing alliance and The National Police Air Service, attended the scene and a large number of people were present.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: “One person is reported to have sustained minor injuries during the incident, they did not require hospital treatment.
“No arrests were made at the scene and enquiries remain ongoing at this time.”
A large police presence attended the scene and police helicopters were also spotted by residents.
Detective chief inspector Rob McLoughlin said: “I understand the concern this incident is likely to cause, and I would like to reassure residents that this is believed to be isolated, and there is not believed to be any risk to the wider community.
“Patrols have been stepped up in the area and I would urge anyone with any concerns or information to speak to an officer.
