THE Mersey Gateway Bridge is set to close for maintenance work both today and tomorrow.
It has been announced via X that the popular toll bridge used regularly by commuters will close later today, Tuesday, both today and tomorrow.
This is so that maintenance work can be carried out along the route.
The closure will be put in place from 8pm to 5am both evenings between Rocksavage to Weston Point Expressway eastbound.
Traffic will instead be diverted via Weston Point Expressway & Bridgewater Junction.
A spokesperson for Mersey Gateway Bridge said: “Maintenance works programmed to take place tonight and tomorrow night between 20.00 and 05.00.
“Rocksavage to Weston Point Expressway eastbound will be closed & traffic diverted via Weston Point Expressway & Bridgewater Junction.”
