FIREFIGHTERS tackled two ‘deliberate’ bin fires in the same Widnes street in the early hours of the morning.
One fire engine from Widnes responded to a call to Lower House Lane at 1.47am on Sunday, September 1.
Firefighters used a hose to put out the bin fire, but were soon informed of another bin fire close by, which was put out by the same crew.
Officers said they believe the fires were set deliberately.
A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Firefighters were called to extinguish a bin on fire on Lower House Lane.
“After putting the fire out, the crew were made aware of another bin fire further down the road.
“Both fires were extinguished using a hose reel jet.
“Cheshire Police were called due to the deliberate nature of the fires.”
