RAIL users are being warned of disruption at Runcorn train station this morning, Thursday.
Avanti West Coast says a fault with the signalling system is causing train services to be delayed and cancelled.
Passengers using or travelling through the station are being urged to check before travelling and allow extra time for journeys.
Avanti West Coast said: “Due to a fault with the signalling system at Runcorn, trains have to run at reduced speed on all lines.
“Train services running through this station may be delayed by up to five minutes. Disruption is expected until 9.45am.
“Rail replacement coaches are conveying passengers between Liverpool Lime Street and Crewe via Runcorn in both directions until further notice.
“Arrangements have been made for Avanti West Coast rail tickets to be accepted for these journeys.
“We are really sorry if this affects you and your journey today.
“If your journey is delayed 15 minutes or more, you can claim compensation at delayrepay.avantiwestcoast.co.uk
“If your train is cancelled, your ticket is valid on the Avanti West Coast train immediately before or after the cancelled one.
If you no longer wish to travel because your train is delayed or cancelled, you can request a full refund from where you bought your ticket.”
