RUNCORN'S Norton Priory will play host to Nana Funk next month for a one-night show.
The Great Great Grandmother of Good Times and star of ‘Tough Old Bird’, brings her outrageous, warm-hearted wit on Sunday, September 8.
Arranged as part of the ‘Performances at the Priory’ summer programme, curated by artistic directors Kate Allerston and Chris Bastock, this funny, life-affirming show skewers society’s view of older women.
Show creator Angie Waller has been entertaining audiences as Nana Funk since 2013. In ‘Tough Old Bird’, she stars alongside Claire Jones as Val, in a heartfelt musical journey exploring real life events. Claire also composed the music for this unique experience that combines dialogue, song and clowning to captivating and comedic affect.
Norton Priory chief executive, Rob Sanderson-Thomas said: “Our artistic directors Kate and Chris have created a great summer 2024 programme at the Priory, and we’re thrilled to be able to welcome Nana Funk this September.
"It promises to be a wonderful evening of unexpected ‘nanarchy’ in a unique setting, with our grand Victorian porch forming an ideal backdrop to the show.”
The performance, which will be held in the museum’s atrium, starts at 7.30pm. Doors open at 6.30pm to allow patrons to explore the museum in private before taking their unreserved seating. Tickets cost £14 per person and may be booked online at www.nortonpriory.org/events. Over 14s only.
