AN INQUEST into the death of a 35-year-old woman in Widnes determines that she died of an overdose in her bedroom.
The inquest into the death of Georgiana Zamfirescu was formally opened on Wednesday at Cheshire Coroners’ Court.
Ms Zamfirescu, who was born in Bucharest, died in Widnes aged 35 after she was found in her bedroom.
The court heard that on Ms Zamfirescu was at home with her partner in May when she ran upstairs.
Her partner, who stayed on the sofa, later heard her moving around but left to meet friends on May 23.
When he returned home at around 1pm, he could no longer hear her and assumed she was asleep.
The court heard that her partner fell asleep on the sofa and, when he woke up, he went upstairs to check on her and found her on her back in the bedroom.
Paramedics were called and CPR was used to try and save Ms Zamfirescu’s life, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Cheshire Police attended the scene and determined that the 35-year-olds death was not suspicious.
Senior Coroner for Cheshire, Jacqueline Devonish, concluded that Ms Zamfirescu died after an overdose of non-prescribed medication.
“I express my heartfelt condolences to the family,” she said.
