A PRIMARY school is seeking formal planning permission for two new classrooms.
Daresbury Primary School has submitted the application to Halton Borough Council’s planning department.
The proposal by the Chester Road learning site is a retrospective one for the installation of temporary classrooms.
Applicant The Heath Family Multi-Academy Trust says this would be in one building, along with toilet facilities.
Plans state: “To meet increasing demand, the board of trustees for Daresbury Primary School has provided two new teaching classrooms to ensure there are enough places locally.”
The 169-square-metres of space includes two classrooms and two sets of toilet facilities.
Documents state that the new building will create additional accommodation for the primary school.
They add that a key driver for the scheme is to ‘maximise the remaining available site for learning, socialising and play’.
It will also ‘provide accommodation for pupils and staff to meet the basic needs of proposed future pupil expansion over the next few years’.
Documents say: “The development produces a positive spatial structure and sense of place by building layout, form and design, creating a development which integrates well with the topography and setting.”
