A DEDICATED team of fundraisers have raised an incredible £7,000 for Halton Haven Hospice.
On Sunday, a team of 23 from merseyflow started their Snowdon Sunrise ascent from Llanberis at 2am.
They reached the summit at 5.30am and despite the challenge being gruelling, the team said it was worth it knowing they were supporting the hospice - which provides free specialist care to the people of Halton and surrounding areas who are living with end-of-life or life-limiting conditions.
The merseyflow team raised an incredible £7,000 with their hike, and the total includes £500 generously donated from Merseylink consortium.
Helen Williams, marketing manager at merseyflow, was part of the team tackling the highest mountain in Wales.
Helen said: “The trek up Snowdon was gruelling for some but it was worth it knowing we were raising a lot of money to help Halton Haven Hospice provide support to patients and their families.
“We’d like to thank everyone who has supported us and donated to this amazing cause, helping us to smash our fundraising target.”
The hospice needs to raise more than £2.6 million annually to cover its operating costs, with only half of this amount funded by statutory sources. Rising living costs further strain its resources, making donations essential for its continued service.
Tina Gill, Fundraising Manager at Halton Haven Hospice said: “Donations are vital for us to keep running.
“At the moment, we need to raise more than £2.6 million a year to meet our annual running costs.
“So to have the merseyflow team take on this enormous challenge to raise money for our charity is fantastic. We’re very grateful for their support.”
