A DENTAL nurse from Runcorn has been nominated for a prestigious award.

Celie Brookes, who works at a practice in Cheshire, has been nominated for Dental Nurse of the Year in the North of England category.

This is in the Dentistry Awards 2024 which celebrate excellence in dental practice, recognising dental professions for their achievements and advancements.

Celie is Community Union’s lead dental nurse activist.

Tiffany Gillies, assistant director of operations at Community Union, said: "We are delighted that Celie has been nominated for this prestigious award which shows just how valued she is by colleagues and patients alike.

“Celie has played a big part in helping our membership grow in the dental nurse profession, and has been a great advocate for dental nurses across the country who are looking for support and recognition at work.

“We wish her the best of luck for the awards next month, and we know that she'll continue to be a champion for the sector."
