A SPONSORED twilight walk will take place to raise crucial funds for a hospice in Halton and celebrate its 40th anniversary.
Halton Haven Hospice’s Twilight Walk is set to return to help raise money for the end of life services and palliative care the hospice provides.
The sponsored walk, which is 10km, will start at the DCBL Stadium Halton, on Lower House Lane in Widnes, at 6pm on September 14.
Walkers will then make their wait through Kingsway and over the Silver Jubilee Bridge before heading to Ten Lock Flight, on Crossville Way in Runcorn, where they will receive a medal.
“We always have fantastic support for our events,” said Tina Gill, fundraising manager at Halton Haven Hospice.
“The Twilight Walk is an absolute favourite. Have fun, celebrate a loved one and help raise funds for your local hospice.”
Halton Haven Hospice, which was founded in 1984, will be hosting the event with a twist, as participants are encouraged to take part in 80s fancy dress in celebration of the hospices’ 40th anniversary.
“Everyone taking part will receive a fabulous medal, t-shirt and there will be memory panels available to write who you are walking for and pin to your top,” said Tina.
“Huge thanks go to out event sponsors Nyland & Beattie Solicitors, Halton Housing, Asda Runcorn, Anthony’s Travel and Ten Lock Flight pub who help make this event a success.”
Individual entry costs £10, those under 16 years old can take part from £5, and registration can be found here.
Each participant is being asked to try and raise £50 and the funds will help the hospice continue providing its services across Halton.
