A DENTAL practice has been given the green light for its plans to expand.
An application had been submitted to Halton Borough Council’s planning department for Halton Lodge Dental Surgery, on Festival Way in Runcorn.
This was for a proposed single-storey side and rear extension to the existing dental surgery, along with associated parking and pedestrian access.
The former residential dwelling currently has one treatment room, with a reception and waiting room on the ground floor.
Planning documents state: “The application proposes the front, side and rear extension of an existing dental surgery to accommodate one additional treatment room, alongside improvements to the pedestrian and vehicular access.
“The site has been in continued operation as a dental surgery for a number of years, providing a valued and indispensable service to the community with a loyal client base.
“As a result of this, the operator would like to enlarge their facility to meet the growing demand for dental care through the addition of an additional treatment room on site.
“This would provide a total of two treatment rooms, alongside an internal refuse store, enlarged waiting room and reception at ground floor level.
“Alongside these enhancements, the operator would like to take the opportunity to deliver a more formalised access to the site.
“This is with increased safety for clients arriving by car and on foot by way of a dedicated pedestrian access and two vehicle parking spaces.”
The family dental surgery was sold for the first time since 1989 back in December 2022 for an undisclosed price.
