A SHOP in Ditton was evacuated after a fire broke out in the attic of a commercial building.
Fire engines from Widnes and Penketh responded to an emergency call to the business on Liverpool Road at 2.35pm on Tuesday, July 23.
The shop was evacuated while crews tackled the fire with a hose before removing parts of the roof to see whether the fire had spread.
A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue service said: “Fire crews attended a fire in the roof space of a building attached to a commercial premises.
“The shop was evacuated while firefighters used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.
“Crews cut away at areas of the roof to check for any fire spread and dampened down hot spots.”
