A 28-year-old man was found dead at his Runcorn home after taking his own life, an inquest heard.

It was heard at Cheshire Coroners Court on Wednesday that Joe Voght's body was discovered in the bedroom of his home on Halt Lane in Runcorn on March 13.

Area coroner of Cheshire, Jacqueline Devonish, detailed in the written inquest how police, paramedics and fire fighters were called to the scene of the incident.

Paramedics attended but it was already too late, and Mr Voght was confirmed as deceased.

“Police attended and did not find any suspicious circumstances,” she added.

Mr Voght was said to have suffered a psychosis in 2022 and was allocated a weekly care coordinator to help assist him with his mental health.

The 28-year-old last met with his coordinator only the day before his death on March 12, but it was confirmed that he had not reported any issues during that meeting.

Coroner Devonish confirmed the death to be a suicide before extending her sincere condolences to the family of the deceased.
