POLICE have confirmed why you may have seen or heard the force helicopter yesterday, Monday.
A number of residents have been in touch with us asking why the police helicopter was scrambled yesterday afternoon.
Cheshire Police has confirmed it was in the vicinity following reports of a car theft in Widnes.
A force spokesman said: “At 4.20pm on 9 July police were called to reports of a car theft of Chidlow Close, Widnes.
“Officers, supported by National Police Air Service, attended and conducted a search of the area but there was no trace of the vehicle.”
