POLICE uncovered a cannabis farm and seized a selection of handmade weapons in a raid.

Cheshire Police in the Halton Lea area of Runcorn searched a property being used to grow the controlled class B drug.

Officers in Widnes also seized three motorbikes during a busy 24-hour period.

The force’s Halton Lea Police team said: “On Sunday, less than 24 hours after interrupting the last drug deal, beat officers stopped another suspect in the exact same location with this class B controlled drug.

“During the same shift, we assisted with a search of a property and located a small cannabis grow with self-made weapons located next to the front door.

“All these items have been seized and will be destroyed safely.”

The force’s Hough Green Police team added: “Another two off-road bikes were seized on Monday as part of Operation Scrambler.

“Thank you to all members of the public who gave us information to take these illegal bikes off the roads.

“A stolen scooter was recovered on Afton in Widnes along with a quantity of cannabis.”
