THREE fire engines rushed to tackle a fire in the bathroom of a house this afternoon, Monday.

Fire engines from Runcorn, Widnes and Lymm fire stations attended Cambourne Close in Runcorn.

After receiving reports of the blaze at around 2.15pm, crews attended and found that the fire in the home was ‘well-developed’ in the first-floor bathroom.

Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters used hose reel jets to tackle the blaze.

Gas and electricity supplies were isolated and the loft spaces and neighbouring properties were checked for smoke spread.

A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “There were no reported casualties.”
