A SERVING inmate attacked two prison officers simply doing their job.

Daniel See, of Runcorn, was incarcerated in HM Prison Risley when he carried out the assaults.

The 32-year-old’s violent actions were captured on CCTV cameras inside the category C jail on Warrington Road however.

He was subsequently charged with two counts of assault by beating of an emergency worker and one of intentional strangulation, however the latter was later dropped.

He appeared to be sentenced at Liverpool Crown Court on Thursday, having been released from prison having served the previous sentence for which he was behind bars.

Prosecutor Iain Criddle explained to the court how the offences were committed on May 26 last year.

It was not said what crimes See was sentenced for to find himself in Risley prison.

The defendant was asked to return to his cell but refused, and an altercation ensued which led to See pushing a prison officer and punching another.

See also grabbed the collar of one of the male officers, hence the initial strangulation charge, but this was later dropped by the prosecution.

The court heard that See is no stranger to committing crimes and being sent to custody, however, a judge opted to suspend the sentence.

The defendant, of Thorn Road in Runcorn, was sentenced by judge David Potter to seven months in prison suspended for 18 months.

He was also ordered to complete 25 rehabilitation activity requirement days and abide by an electronically monitored curfew for 12 weeks.
