POLICE in Runcorn have recovered two stolen motorbikes – including one that was dumped in a canal.
Cheshire Police officers made the finds yesterday, Thursday, around the town.
The force’s Runcorn Police team said: “B-block officers have recovered a motorcycle was discovered in Bridgewater Canal by somebody magnet fishing.
“It was taken from the Runcorn area a while back. Sadly, it is in a very poor condition due to the time spent in the water.”
A second motorbike was recovered hours earlier, also in Runcorn.
A Runcorn Police spokesman said: “Another motorcycle recovered by B-block beat team, this time deliberately hidden in the undergrowth behind the Town Hall.
“With the ignition wires cut and hotwired, it was clearly being used illegally, and most likely anti-socially.
“This bike will now be returned to its owner who lives out of the area.
“If you happen to come across a motorcycle hidden such as this, please call us on 101 so we can remove it and take the danger that comes with its illegal use off our roads.”
