A MAN has finally found his ‘forever home’ in Runcorn after moving houses 15 times in his life.
With the average Brit moving only eight times throughout their life, Alistair has bucked the trend, living in various homes across the UK since buying his first home in Uxbridge in 1983 aged 25.
Now, Alistair, a assistant director of nursing, has chosen to spend his retirement at Hatters Chase in Sandymoor in what has been his tenth new-build home.
Alistair said: “Whereas some people might see home buying and moving as stressful, I’ve always found it really exciting.
“It might not be the ‘done’ thing to move so many times, but I’ve been fortunate to spend the early years of my retirement experiencing some really interesting places across the country before choosing to settle in Runcorn.
“I chose Runcorn to be closer to my brother, his family and my friends. My new home ticks all my boxes - it’s light and airy, the layout flows nicely and I have three good-sized bedrooms with plenty of room to have friends and family to stay.
“I’ve settled into my new home very quickly which has been lovely. I’ve been making the most of all there is to do here, from long walks to visiting local amenities, and I can’t wait to see what my future holds.”
Alistair has bought a three-bedroom detached home, known as The Mountford, while is sold by Linden Homes, part of the Vitry group.
He added: “The service I’ve received from Linden has genuinely been the best I’ve had in my years of buying new-build homes. The sales team has been really supportive throughout - from my first visit when I wasn’t quite sure what home style I wanted, to liaising with my solicitors and keeping me up to date at all times. It’s made the process very smooth and made it a lot easier for me.”
Gemma Hardy, managing director of Vistry Merseyside and Cheshire West, said: “It’s wonderful to hear how Alistair has embraced change and has had the joy of experiencing so many places across the country before settling down at our development in Runcorn.
“Our homes are designed to cater for a variety of buyers at different stages in their lives and we’re thrilled that Alistair has found his forever home at Hatters Chase with the help of our team.
“Our sales consultants aim to make the home buying process an exciting experience for all our customers and wish Alistair many years of happiness in his new home.”
