A MINI moto rider has been arrested.
Police in Widnes were sent to Stewards Avenue on Saturday afternoon (June 1) following reports of an illegal motorbike being used on both roads and footpaths at speed.
The rider was tracked down using a drone and arrested for dangerous driving as well as driving with a licence or insurance.
A spokesperson for Widnes Police said: "Patrols from Widnes B Block Response were deployed to Stewards Avenue this afternoon following reports of an illegal motorbike being used in the area both on roads and footpaths at speed.
"Despite its small size, it’s capable of around 30mph as demonstrated by our drone footage.
"Working closely with the drone, the rider was tracked and identified allowing response units to descend and effect his arrest for no Licence, no insurance and dangerous driving."
