CLOSURES have been put in place along Daresbury Expressway after a catering trailer carrying cooking oil overturned.
Police, fire and ambulance services were called to the incident outside Norton Priory at around 2.20pm this afternoon, Friday.
Cheshire Police confirmed a catering trailer carrying gas bottles overturned following a collision with another vehicle.
No persons were trapped in the vehicle but due to a spillage of oil on the road, closures were put in place while a clean up operation was carried out.
Road closures have been put in place on both directions of the carriageway on Daresbury Expressway.
A spokesperson from Cheshire Fire said: "Crews gave first aid to one casualty at the scene.
"They also used absorbant matting and specialist equipment to ensure the liquid, which is believed to be cooking oil, didn't enter nearby drains. Police also attended to deal with the road closure."
Cheshire Fire Service warned residents to 'please avoid the area if possible'.
