A WIDNES teacher has been named one of the best in the country.

Emma Morris who teaches at Early Learners Nursery based on Wade Deacon Road has won ‘National Early Years Teacher of the Year 2024’.

The ‘dedicated’ nursery teacher is described as hard working and strives to ensure all children are cared for and ‘educated to the highest standard’.

Speaking on the win for her member of staff, nursery manager, Michaela Pink, said: “Emma goes above and beyond in her role and role models her practice to train the next generation of teachers and Early Years Educators.

“We are extremely proud of her achievement; it is highly deserved.

“The children in Emma’s care are provided with a range of skilfully planned activities which enhance the children’s experiences in life, giving them then best possible start in their education journey.”

The Widnes-based nursery was opened in 1985 and was the first private childcare nursery in Widnes.

Michaela added: “Today we are celebrating across the nursery, and we are sure you are all as proud of Emma as we are.”
