THE Clone Roses, one of the most wildly popular tribute bands in the UK, will play Warrington’s Parr Hall later this year.
The Stone Roses tribute band recently celebrated their 25th anniversary – marking the occasion with a 6000+ crowd at Heaton Park. The band has been referred to by Mani, the bassist of the Stone Roses, as ‘The Second best Stone Roses in the World’.
Tickets go out at 7pm today, February 28, and are likely to sell out quickly.
The iconic Madchester tribute band will play Parr Hall on October 5, 2024. They will be joined by fellow Madchester tribute artists Oas-is, The Smiths Ltd, and Clint Boon.
The Clones have performed at some of the most iconic venues in the UK, respectfully replicating some of the classic shows from The Stone Roses careers.
From selling out Blackpool Empress Ballroom to performing the iconic Spike Island site on the banks of the river Mersey in front of a sell-out 15,000-strong crowd in Widnes, the band has become hugely popular amongst Roses fans old and new.
In discussing the band amongst the UK’s most popular cover bands, the Guardian said of The Clone Roses: “While mastering John Squire’s endless widdly-widdly is hugely taxing on guitarists, as live singing gigs go, being better than Ian Brown doesn’t take much more than turning up.
“The Clone Roses have long been best at both the widdly-widdly and the turning up”.
Grab your bucket hat, 3 stripes, and gladioli, and celebrate those halcyon Mancunian heydays for what’s bound to be a great evening of classic indie.
