A TRAIN was stopped at Widnes station after a ‘WWE style’ fight involving multiple men on the last train home from Liverpool to Manchester.
On February 18, at around 12.15 am, British Transport Police were called to reports of a fight on a platform at Widnes railway station.
According to passengers, a fight between two large groups of males had broken out, with the train being pulled into the station as a result.
One passenger described the melee as a ‘WWE style’ fight in which one man’s head was ‘rammed into the side of the train on the platform’.
He said: “Absolute nightmare on the last train from Liverpool last night.
“Huge fight, whole carriage involved, someone got off the train and rammed someone into the side of the train on the platform WWE-style.
“Transport police got involved.”
British Transport Police confirmed the fight, stating that three men were escorted from the area.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “Officers were called at around 12.15am on 18 February to reports of a fight on a platform at Widnes railway station.
“Officers attended and three men were escorted from the area.”
