POLICE have arrested a man on suspicion of drug dealing following a raid in Runcotn.

At around 8.30am this morning, Monday, officers from Cheshire Police conducted a raid at an address on Pendennis Court in Castlefields.

While searching the address, officers recovered a quantity of cannabis resin along with four mobile phones and other drugs paraphernalia.

A 22-year-old local man was arrested at the address on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class B drugs, and he remains in custody at the current time.

Chief inspector Cath Jones said: “This warrant was conducted as part of our ongoing fight against the supply of illegal drugs in the Runcorn area.

“As a result of the actions taken, we have arrested a man on suspicion of dealing class B drugs, and a quantity of illegal drugs have been removed from the streets of Runcorn.

“The impact of drugs is well known, and I hope that this arrest provides reassurance to the community that we are doing all we can to stop those believed to be involved in this behaviour.

“Information from the public is vital, and I would urge anyone with any information in relation to drug related activity in their community to get in touch.”
