CURTIS ‘Cocky’ Warren is set to appear back in court after breaching an order put in place to prevent him from committing serious crime.

The 60-year-old notorious gangster from Widnes appeared at Liverpool Crown Court on Friday, January 12.

Warren, who is commonly known by his nickname ‘Cocky’, was formerly a nightclub bouncer, and was released from prison in November 2022.

‘Cocky’ has had a trial date set after being charged with 11 different counts of failing to comply with a serious crime prevention order. The man has previously been convicted of drug dealing offences.

This order was put in place following his release from prison in November 2022.

He spoke only to give his name and date of birth during the hearing, which lasted about 10 minutes.

No pleas were entered.

Judge David Aubrey KC fixed a trial date for August 12, with the case estimated to last two weeks.

Warren has been released on bail ahead of a further hearing on June 3.

He is accused of failing to notify the authorities of a change of communication device, of his use of credit cards, that he had set up a business, the true nature of that business, and of his application for a passport.

He is alleged to have breached the order by having more than £1,000 in his possession and failing to declare his income.

He is also charged with breaches by failing to notify the authorities he had access to multiple vehicles, of his travel arrangements while out of the UK, that he was away from his home address for more than 24 hours, and that he changed his home address.
