A BURGLAR has been hauled before the courts for his actions in a Widnes takeaway.

Kaine Bushell trespassed in the food establishment and helped himself to a quantity of cash inside.

The 23-year-old was caught however and charged with a count of burglary, which he faced before Warrington Magistrates’ Court.

The court heard from prosecutor Robert Earl, of the Crown Prosecution Service, how the offence was committed on July 11 at Grillionaire Takeaway.

Bushell trespassed inside the Queen's Avene food venue and stole cash to the value of £116.

Magistrates remarked that the severity of the offence merited a custodial sentence and said that he has a ‘flagrant disregard for people and their property’.

However, taking the defendant’s guilty plea into account and deeming him to be a ‘real prospect for rehabilitation’, they felt able to suspend the sentence.

Bushell, of Lodge Road in Widnes, was sentenced to 16 weeks in prison suspended for 12 months.

He was also ordered to pay compensation of £380, as well as costs to the Crown Prosecution Service of £120.
