WATCH the momentous moment that Fiddler’s Ferry was partially blown up today.
Thousands of people gathered at vantage points across the country to watch the long-awaited moment.
It took months and months of planning and was over in just a few seconds.
And sadly a thick blanket of mist covered the cooling towers causing many people to miss the view.
The only evidence of the demolition for some was the loud bangs that followed.
Luckily, Skyline Productions captured the blowdown, which was carried out by P. P. O'Connor from start to finish.
The date of the demolition of the rest of the towers is still to be set.
